He will provide a legislative outlook and discuss the possible changes in policy that the outcome of the Presidential election may bring about in the employee benefits arena.
Meet The Speaker:Gary Kline
Senior Principal, Federal Government Affairs Evernorth Mr. Kline is responsible for leading the company’s engagement with House Republican Leadership, the Ways and Means Committee and the House Armed Services Committee. Gary also serves as a liaison to the Express Scripts (ESI) internal business, industry associations and other policy influencers on matters impacting Capitol Hill. Gary has spent over 20 years in the Washington D.C. health policy community. Prior to joining Express Scripts almost ten years ago, he was the Senior Policy Advisor and Legislative Director for Congressman Brian P. Bilbray (CA), a member of the House Energy and Commerce Committee (E&C). In this role, Gary managed a team of legislative assistants and directed all office legislative policy. As Mr. Bilbray’s lead staffer on the E&C Committee, Gary was in charge of all policies related to health care reform, FDA, drug pricing, innovation, science and the economy, and energy policy. His policy work earned Congressman Bilbray many bi-partisan accolades, including being named to the No Labels Caucus, and resulted in three Republican-sponsored bills being signed into law during the Obama Administration. Gary holds a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science and a Master of Public Policy with honors from American University in Washington, DC. |
